Did I get it backwards, or is the plot summary wrong?

The plot summary says:
"A computer hacker whose goal is to discover the reason for human existence continually finds his work interrupted thanks to the Management; namely, they send a teenager and lusty love interest to distract him."

"A computer hacker"
It appears to me that he's a drone, not a hacker.

"whose goal is to discover the reason for human existence"
It appears to me that he had no goal except to work from home and not be bothered. He's set to the task of solving a mathematical equation that he does not understand until Management tells him near the end of the movie what the equation is about, and it's not about the reason for human existence.

"continually finds his work interrupted thanks to the Management; namely, they send a teenager and lusty love interest to distract him."
Umm, I thought the Management sent the two (and Dr Shrink-Rom) were to keep him on task. At least that's what Bob said was why they sent Bainsley, who Qohen did not believe was a call girl. They just didn't do what they were supposed to.

Finally saw the film yesterday. Don't worry, It is Imdb that has it backwards.

It's not about the plot summary, it's like the trailer tells another story about someone who is trying to prove the human existence.... I felt cheated watching the movie regardless if i like it or not. And that's is the worst way for watching a movie, it kinda ruin the meaning of the movie.

I down-voted due to its misrepresentation. Would of been a 3 or 4 star vote, instead I gave it a 2.

Yeah, Imdb summaries are sometimes (often?) a load of rubbish.

Weirdly, even when the summary is straight from the movie studio. Baffling!

The part with the goal of his research being to discover the reason of human existence is partially right. More exactly, it is to prove the lack of meaning of everything, of the universe as a whole, so that encompasses also the meaning of human existence. To mathematically prove nihilism as valid.
