This is why she broke up with him!

I didn't read the book so please tell me where I've gone wrong!

I do believe Ana really fell in love with Christian. She was willing to go along with this perverted sex and felt that he would love her in the long run like normal couples......I don't know, maybe not but the attraction for Christian was very strong.

I think deep down she was getting a little frustrated with his control freak tendencies and not sleeping in the same bed hurt her a great deal. Also all the contract rules and not being able to touch him and show him any affection didn't help either. When she said to him show me the worst (meaning pain) and then she would realize that he would never be normal for her. I don't know what the meaning of the 6 hits were but the pain was real and if he could hurt her like that and get pleasure out of it then the end was sure to come. It did and her anger certainly showed revulsion towards him.

You pretty well summed it up, but it goes way deeper for both of them...so will be interesting to see your take on the next movie..hopefully they will have the scene at the beginning, where Christian is having a talk with his therapist,Dr.Flynn.

reply

Thanks isundling! Your comments seem very reasonable, I hope your right!

reply

Pretty much. I won't elaborate much further, especially since you haven't read the series. But suffice to say, things get better relationship wise (in the fantasy world of books)

reply

"fantasy world of books" and relationships....kind of right up there with "Reality TV", and "Daytime Soaps", and most "Dramatic TV series" relationships...dang..kind of a rut to be normal?..guess that is why I kind of like the fantasy world once in a while.

reply

Hello Ms. isundling,

We all need a release, fantasy, soap or whatever, from time to time. The world is cruel, people can be thoughtless and fantasy allows us a respite. There is a reason why romance is the top popular literary genre. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

reply

I agree...but please explain to me why The Bachelor and The Bachelorette continue to be on the air?...I mean, you want to talk about unbelievable romance...I read the last couple just had a big fight in their car,and there were fans catching it with their Iphones..

reply

Hi isundling,

I've never seen The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, but I know people who've worked on them. They are typical bs shows with beautiful people who are paid to make fools of themselves. Every second is already mapped out. Pure fantasy.

reply

And I didn't mean fantasy world to be derogatory! Fantasy world is what it is! In the romance fantasy world, relationships always work out! lol

reply

Listen, I know that you love this series and that's absolutely fantastic!!! Enjoy every moment of it. And yes, fantasy world of books is exactly what it is. I have several stories that I enjoy diving into the fantasy world! Just because I use the words fantasy world doesn't meant that I think it's wrong to enjoy any series!

In romance fantasies, relationships always work out and happy endings happen

reply

Sounds good to me...I still have my Aunt's old copies of all the Victoria Holt paperback romances...love...drama...a little sex..torn apart..back at the end...all the good stuff.

reply

Hi darling isundling,

Victoria Holt isn't a favorite of mine, but her work still rocks. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.

reply

I've read Victoria Holt in the past!!! I actually have a weakness for V.C. Andrews lol. I can't tell you how many times I've read Flowers in the Attic lol. Now, that's some twisted stuff but I love it!

Hi Ms. April,

I'm a member of Romance Writers of America - You can't sell a romance without a happy ending or a happy everlasting ending as writers call it. We all want to see the lovers go through hell and emerge victorious.

reply

Of course not!!! Who wants to read a romance story where people end up alone!!!

reply

Not a true romantic like our Miss Ana....

reply

Ahhh, true romantics are so over-rated!!! (I'm kidding, lol) Guess I'm too cynical to be a true romantic. I gave that up a long time ago!

Somewhere, all the Nicholas Sparks' fans just rose their hand.

Btw, I loved V.C. Andrews too. I read many of her books when I was in high school. I especially loved Heaven, along with the rest of the Casteel series.

reply

I haven't read any Nicholas Sparks novels (seen a couple of the movies based off his books) so I wouldn't have any idea.

I don't think that I've read all of VC Andrews but the Casteel series was always a good one, as was aforementioned Dollanganger series that I read.

reply

It never worked both ways. If there is a message that I could get from the movie alone, it was that the relationship was very one sided. Then again, most relationships break up now days, regardless, due to money digging and humans not biologically suppose to be living with each other for long periods of time etc.

Reminder: The O.C. resets to its first episode on POP network April 1 @ 2 p.m. EST

reply

I see what you are saying...but..this all takes place in just over a months time...Christian was very one sided, but that is all he knew..and Ana had no experience either way, other than her romantic novels..and that is the crux of the love story...these two people "happen by chance" to find each other..and coming/getting together is the whole story.
