I didn't find it sexy or sensual enough. "Nine and a half weeks" came out 30 years ago and it was way sexier than this.
The purpose of this film was to be a sexy, erotic fantasy. It just failed. Go watch nine and a half weeks. It's sexier and it has some BDSM elements too.
Everyone has their own idea of sexy...Nine and half Weeks was great...but she broke it off when he brought a prostitute into the mix...Christian and Ana are in it for the long haul..

shareHe used the belt on her one time..she didn't use the safe words...both of these happenings were necessary for the love story of Christian and Ana to continue..or so the author thought...and yes, I do get it..and at the end of book one I was upset..but EL James continues the story and its repercussions in Darker and Freed.
I totally disliked Alec d'Uberville when he raped Tess and continued to abuse her..but I still enjoyed the book..there are always good guys and bad guys and then the ones in the "Grey" area...say la vie..

shareOdd..the first time I watched Secretary, it really bothered me...Lee's boss making her do those awful things, and then she enjoying them?...with her history of mental problems, it just felt wrong, and she had a boyfriend and was engaged...I guess that was true BDSM? without the sex?..the employer/employee really got to me..so much female sexual harassment going on in our world today..and it was shown that he had many secretaries he hired and fired..the one Lee took the place of, left crying..I didn't feel any love in that relationship till the very end..but what a trip getting there...anyone else?

I thought the book was trash. I'll have to step out and be honest enough to say that Jamie Dornan did it for me--just the flash of his hands or a look on his face. The concept would be much richer if the two subjects had both been powerful but most women, lacking power, would've missed the entire overtone of "come rescue me/I need to save you" *beep*
I think any rescue/come save me was done by Ana, not to her..he was the powerful one, yet she brings him to his knees...as we will see in Darker.
