Prefer this to the original!!

I watched this version first a while back but just recently watched the original to compare and this ones definitely better! The first is bloody depressing! Not just what happens to the main characters but everyone else too. I like that this version didn't have David as some crazy, messed in the head psychopath like in the original (and I am guessing the book). It just was a nicer version with a happier ending. In the original the parents were creepy as **** Firstly the mother was obsessed herself with David, the father was obsessed with Jade, the brother was jealous David was with Jade more than him hence why he dismissed his friendship (before David went nuts!) and david cant wait 30 bloody days?!! Who goes and burns a bloody house down for no reason?! He sets a fire and then walks away and then when the fire gets out of control comes back in a panic?! I mean what the hell!! thats not obsession thats 'psychopath' And then in the end when he violently pins Jade to the bed and you think hes going to rape her until she stops crying and says she loves him too...IS SHE NUTS?!!! it was totally bonkers!
