Just saw it. Didn't understand much of the dialog, but the visuals look stunning. I have no doubt this will be a success, and a good movie to boot.

this looks superb! while nothing can touch the cocteau version, or the disney version, this seems to be combining both and making it something new and refreshing. Cast looks incredible, the visuals stunning, just glorious! Cannot wait for this!

shareI kind of freaked out a bit, it really looks like it's going to be the first "good" film on BATB since Disney. The traditional elements in there made me very happy as did some of the over bits (the Beast talking to her not allowing her to see him and her catching him the glass remained me of Panna a Netvor, which I really love).
The only thing I wasn't keen on was the wired dog/monkey things. But aside from that I totally freaked out and fan-girled.
Just going to go out on a limb and ask if anyone could translate it for me I would be much obliged. Also if any one knows a possible UK release date I would be at your mercy (I did look it up but all I could find was a showing of 46 version at the BFI).

I adore classic fairy-tales so this is a must-watch for me. Plus it looks really beautiful and the cast is great. Cassel is a superb actor, he'll make the perfect beast. There's no release date for Canada yet, but I'm really hoping I can see this.

Saw it on YT and the production values look magnificent! They've kept some parts from the tale (the brothers and sisters), so at list visually, it looks promising.
Not sure what the monkey creature additions are about, though.
I just hope it can deliver elsewhere.

I remember reading on a comparison essay someone wrote one of the earliest versions had the Beast's castle servants as monkeys. I've never seen a version of that text as the bunch i have all just have the castle be enchanted where everything is automatically done.
This of course long before the addition that the Beast's subjects were turned into household items.
