Shaw Shanked; Redemption?

I think I can see where Ridley was trying to go with this. He looked at the top 100 movies on IMDb and saw that The ShawShank Redemption has been sitting there squarely for close to a decade now.

"How can I steal that position?" He thought to himself, "How do you trick people into buying a product which isn't the one they want?".

Having spoke to some people from The Asylum film firm he recognised that grandmothers buying misheard enthusiasm from their grandkids and seeing what they think they heard in bargain bins means more people will have rubbish in their collections.

So Shaw dying is her redemption, it also makes Ridley a few bob when he changes the name for the Blu-ray release and gets the Christmas binge going through this upcoming recession.
