What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.
When did they change their mind? When did they say they were going to be releasing one? All that was posted was a speculation that there might be one from a curious Fox tweet about 'getting ready'. Seriously, this is why the internet is so fücking wank. Actually not wank, more like a skidmark on a pair of golden orb spider silk underpants.
shareAll we had was a picture posted of the derelict, with someone from FOX saying "Setting up the decorations for tonight" or something to that effect regarding it being Halloween. It was a joke about that being their Halloween decorations, and there was nothing ever mentioned about a trailer, only speculated about on some sites.
We'll get one by the end of the year for sure, a teaser probably.
WTF ??? What trailer or even Teaser none has been mentioned as yet .... so ya know WTF ?
I suspect may be by April next year for a Teaser, it's way to early as they are editing and scoring and VFX just now.
Releases august 2017 so figure 6-8 moths prior a teaser then a few month's later an actual trailer.
Have a feeling for all those that didn't like Prometheus , which I did and loved and those wanting more Alien will not be disappointed.

We got a trailer for Prometheus in Nov '11 and the film came out in, what, July or August the next year?
Maybe the same will happen for A:C.
Prometheus came out in June. Also, they originally planned a March release, then postponed, so it's tricky to compare. I've noticed that there are many films from next summer with trailers, but just as many without, and there are no trailers for any movies releasing after next July. Covenant will be in the next month or two, but probably not the next week or two.

This Movie has been wrapped for quite some time now. How the heck long does it take to make a teaser trailer ?
I have a very bad feeling that we will all indeed probably have to wait until December until we see a trailer for this movie. I do hope that I turn out to be wrong though!
