Will it be emotional?
Based on the synopsis, the seems like it will be a emotionally invested tearjerker. To those of you who have read or seen the play "Blackbird" can I expect this to be an emotional movie, similar to "Mysterious Skin?"

shareIt wasn't a tearjerker by any means for me. And no, the only thing it would have in common is the fact the leads were molested.
This is like, such another level. It's uncomfortable and you kind of watch it holding your breath at points. It's just a really grim and upsetting tale. But a powerful one.
It's a good drama, but not a tearjerker. For me anyway.

I don't understand how it couldn't be. You'd think that any movie that centers on child abuse would be very sad. It just seems like a given to me.
shareA tear jerker to me implies, terms of endearment or a pet dying in a film. You'll be moved, but I don't think you necessary feel the need to cry. It's an upsetting story yes, but not a tearjerker.

Okay 2 things - 1, I explicitly said that this is a disturbing and upsetting tale, so clearly I didn't say that children being sexually abused doesn't upset me, you complete tit. However there weren't any moments where I can say that you're tearing up.
And 2, you have asked if this is a tearjerker, I'm telling you its not, yet you're saying thats not possible. I don't really know what you're going for in this conversation but you're coming off like a weirdo.

Oh, I'm coming off as a weirdo? For you're information, I happened to be a victim of child abuse, so I find this to be a particularly sensitive subject. That's why I asked in the first place.
shareUh hey, I'm a rape survivor.
You're coming off as a weirdo as you asked a question and I answered it and then you told me my answer couldn't be true. That's weird.
It's a well written dramatic story. There's your answer. Take care.

This film was unsettling and made me feel uncomfortable but it wasn't a tearjerker to me.
shareNope not a tearjerker.
