1. Maybe in future but a spoiler alert on such a post. 2. Una may have been 12 but the fact that she was entirely consenting to it (albeit with the perspective of her youth) is a huge driving force in the play, and the questions her consent raise are a major driving force toward the conflict within the plays script.
You have to see the film to understand. That's a huge part of what they discuss. He swears up and down that he isn't attracted to children, he's not a pedophile, it was HER specifically he was attracted to. Something about her drew him in. In a weird way he fell in love with her. And she (in her 12 year old mind) was in love with him. It IS a passionate affair. Passionate doesn't mean appropriate or ethical. It just means there was passion.
You do not stuff your prick into the one you love until she is of consenting age. You may still love her just as her parents, your friends do. She is at puberty and feels the need of expanding love she may consent to vibrators or boys her age. that would keep world at peace and save us from movie pieces such as this. amen
It doesn't matter if the person is 17 or 1 year old, *beep* like what this guy did to her is called, abuse, molestation and above all it is rape. There is no such thing as a consenting 12 year old.
They bumped her age up to 13 in the film & I believe this film takes place in England somewhere where the age of consent is 16 which is actually higher than the average age of consent in Europe. Obviously still below the age of consent there regardless.
