I could not have watched this straight. But after a few beers, it was funny enough. Also, I am of the Jewish persuasion myself, and trust me, crazies like this do exist in the community. I know many such upperclass, Jewish, weirdos which made it even more funny for me.
So I guess if you like to get high or drunk this is a good movie to watch? If you have a potential substance abuse problem though, you might consider something else.
Jews are the one of the only minorities that will mercilessly poke fun at their own kind. I admire that. I'm definitely not used to FEMINISTS doing it though, so I appreciated that at least about this movie.
The strict orthodox jews are a big bucket of fun. If by fun we mean zero fun, odd area hair growin, wailing wall rockin back n forth, uber serious all the time sort. But yeah the regular jews i know usually seem pretty fun loving and willing to throw themselves under the bus for a laugh.
