Do you think after failing with their garbage DCEU movies they will go back and rape Middle-Earth some more ?
Do I have to root for those horrid DCEU movies to succeed just for that reason, so they stay away from M-E ?
Hopefully not 'rape', as you suggest. However, there is probably a deadline for the start of filming of a new Middle-earth movie before the rights revert back to The Saul Zaents Company and Middle-earth Enterprises. We'll have to wait and see if Warners lets such a deadline pass.

I truly hope so : let's not forget that WB didn't give us the LOTR Trilogy, New Line Cinema gave us that.
Warner Bros gave us The Travesty, I mean The Hobbit : so I'd rather not have anything from them ever again.

Theoretically, yes, as long as they don't infringe on material original to other works such as The Silmarillion or Unfinished Tales. Such projects would need to have a basis in The Hobbit or The Lord of the Rings. One example would be a movie (or movies) about Aragorn's early adventures adapted from "The Tale of Aragorn and Arwen" from LotR, Appendix A. A movie (or movies) about Dol Guldur's attacks on Lothlórien and the Woodland Realm and/or the Battle of Dale and Siege of Erebor in the last days of the War of the Ring could feature Tauriel in some manner.

Phew, I feel better now : not that I wouldn't want more M-E movies but I just don't trust WB with it.

Interesting : I'm not ready to accept Aragorn being played by another actor, I'm not so sure there is enough meat to chew in the cleansing of Dol Guldur but I like the battle of Erebor idea (and Dain is already CGI in The Hobbit so no problem there...), except for the Tauriel part but who cares ? fanedits will fix that again lol

I don't even know if Tolkien wrote that or if it's fan-fiction, and ofc they can't use Turin Turambar (the prophecy was about him killing Morgoth, right ?) but we saw in The Hobbit that WB doesn't care about canon at all so...
I've long been an advocate for a movie (or movies) about the journeys and errantries of Aragorn. A younger actor would have to play Aragorn the Ranger but Viggo could conceivably reprise the role of King Elessar book-ending the story as narrator (perhaps telling the tale to his own children).
I would say that the Final Battle would be out-of-bounds, coming mostly from The Silmarillion (and Untold Tales?). The same with the story of the children of Hurin. The film rights licensed through Middle-earth Enterprises only cover The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings (including the Appendices).

His portrayal in the LOTR movies is one of the very few things I have a slight problem with: it would be nice to give some context for his bitterness and for the way he treats poor Faramir. The Book explains it, there IS a reason: he is not just an axxhole (you know better than me: what did you think of his portrayal in ROTK ?)
It may be difficult for me to accept another face for Aragorn but I think the positives may be more than the negatives (if WB doesn't ruin everything again...): one of the things I like about TH is seeing new locations and a hypothetical Aragorn movie might take us to Umbar and maybe a few more places in Gondor, like the coastal regions...

Denethor would be a must; he would have been about 45 years old when Aragorn (as Thorongil) left the service of Ecthelion II of Gondor. It was already established in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers that Théoden was a young boy when Aragorn in disguise rode with his father King Thengel.
Aragorn's journeys to the distant East (Rhûn) and far South (Far Harad) would introduce us to cultures and people (both good and evil) we have never seen in a Middle-earth movie before. It's possible that Aragorn even met one or both of the Blue Wizards in his travels and Tolkien (in his conceit as the translator of the Red Book) never encountered the story.

Do I sense...sarcasm? Or are you genuinely interested in that possibility? It's a remote one in any case, especially since there is so little about the Blue Wizards that could be used. There are some possible workarounds: "I have had many names, but here I am known as ______."
