I imagine that people who think Lagertha is hot, watch for the sex and imagine themselves with her. Yuck! As far as I am concerned, Hirst could tone the sex way down. Porn is not of interest to me.
I liked Lagertha in the beginning, but not after she killed Aslaug whom I liked better as she was a better mother, is the one without any assistance from either Ragnar or Lagertha, who kept the settlement that was Kattegat going during times of poverty and starvation, even tried to counsel Bjorn and Porunn, and presided over the growth and prosperity of the erstwhile settlement while Lagertha, who claimed to be queen of Kattegat, was off playing Rambo, and sleeping her way to an earldom, or was it more than one? When she returns, she is happy to take all that Aslaug had worked for and kill the mother of four of Ragnar's sons. At least one is still bent on revenging himself on her for that, and it is Ivar, the one that Aslaug saved from exposure until death because of his disability and nurtured.
It is a mystery to me why people who see nothing wrong with Lagertha sleeping with everything except the settlement's goats, can condemn Aslaug who was willing to be the second wife, since Ragnar needed more sons, and Lagertha could not give him any more. That was a reality of the time as much as Lagertha's sleeping her way through several partners.
But then I don't watch the show for the sex.
Incidentally, this series is based on Viking characters whose truth if they indeed existed, is lost in the mists of legend, so anything Hurst writes is as valid as the legends.
Heahmund is a pointless character. All we have seen him do is fight for whoever he can bargain with to save his life, and who can't control his sexual appetites. He is supposedly a bishop.
I am neither weak nor cowardly. If you met me face to face, I would still disagree with you. I just happen to disagree with all of the Lagertha worshippers, and I am intelligent enough not to use filthy language.
