An observation

Watch any movie or TV show with a the-world-as-we've-known-it-is-ending/has-ended premise, in which remaining humans are focused almost solely on survival - water, food, shelter, and, of course, battling zombies/aliens/Whatevers, with only the occasional thought being given to washing or clean clothes, perhaps a little more to sex - and I guarantee you that regardless of how many weeks, months, or years may have passed under such circumstances, the legs, thighs, bikini-lines, and underarms of all women will be absolutely and completely hair-free.

Yes. I've noticed this. It's the same as any female who's a famous actress must be super pretty, but the men don't have to care about their personal appearance because all that matters is their acting. Case in point: James Gandolfini, John Goodman, John Clarke, Anthony Hopkins, etc. But the only female I can add to this non-sexy actor list is Kathy Bates, and I never see her in anything anymore.

It's because Hollywood is run by men. Also, it's a way to bring in audiences to movie theaters.

And if they made them "authentic" with unkempt, hairy female characters having no makeup on, then the other half would complain about how ugly the movie is.

Really a no-win situation, in some respects, but I believe most viewers would rather see "pretty" characters, at least the ones who are supposed to be good people.

Don't forget that the leading men have to be white and look like Calvin Klein models with perfect hair and chiseled bodies (apparently they still stick to their complete workout and nutrition regimen as the world ends), and they'll appear out of nowhere to fall in love with you all sexy-like.

OMG this makeup is ridiculous! The world is under siege and the females on the base are in full on evening makeup. The director let that crap pass as realistic???
