So H is still not known? I assume he or she was communicating with OCG via online.

That's correct. They are still toying with us as to who H is....

Hints galore but nothing firm as yet (at least as far as I can tell.)

The following is not based on anything actually seen in the show, so not a spoiler or anything.

But I've wondered from the first season if they would make something of Hastings's time in the RUC?

I read somewhere that there was going to be a new season. Can't recall where or what the details were...

I don't know, but I was kind of surprised during the questioning of Hastings that neither he nor his solicitor made any noise about Dot Cottan's dying declaration and him not making any indication on 'A' when Kate started going for the second letter. I think she made it up to 'E'.
