It's my favourite TV show right now.

I've just been watching all the reruns of seasons 1 to 4 on BBC4, and I can't wait for season 5 which I believe is to be scheduled fairly soon.

Yes indeed. Such a rewarding show. They fit in so much story in a single episode, and the plots are always so wonderfully complex and labyrinthine, albeit maybe a bit contrived when you think about it.

I hope season five (and I think they're doing a six and final season) maintains the high quality of the previous seasons.

I've seen that and episode two. It was screened in the UK yesterday evening.

If you're a week behind in Canada I won't give anything away, but the plot thickens...

Honestly, season five, episode three was the first time I've been a tad disappointed with the show.

I was a late convert, only watching the show for the first time with season three, and then going back to the previous two seasons on Netflix, prior to the premier of season four, but taking them all in order, I think each season has generally been a partial improvement on the last (season three is still my personal favourite thanks to the whole Dot Cottan saga, but if there was any drop-off with season four, it was only very slight, and mostly compensated for thanks to a superb lead performance from Thandie Newton).

Like previous guest stars, Stephen Graham has been great this new season, but the structure this time around is slightly different (have you seen episode two yet? If not, I'm hesitant about explaining what my issue is), and so far there has been less scope for those brilliant AC-12 interviews/interrogations that really made the show. Still, I've got three more episodes to go, so hopefully episode three was only a temporary dip in quality.

Only E1 is available here so far. I always wait till all six episodes are available and then binge it.
