Was great- kind of like The Ghost Squad
Forgotten(?) Channel 4 series The Ghost Squad from a couple of years back must have had a strong influence on Line Of Duty.
In a 2-part story in The Ghost Squad Adrian Lester(Hustle) played a top black copper who was being investigated for corruption and Elaine Cassidy (The Others) was the young female detective who was undercover investigating him along with Jonas Armstrong(Robin Hood).
The Ghost Squad was a brilliant 6 or 7 part series and when I read about Line Of Duty I knew it would be good with- again- a great cast like TGS.
I share others views here that the final episode felt a bit rushed and could have benefited from a 6th episode (what is it nowadays with 5 parters, used to be 6 quite a lot). Shows like Criminal Justice suited 5 parts because they were shown every weekday night Mo-Fri but shows like Line Of Duty should spin into a 6th week.
Anyway apart from that and apart from the fact that Marin Compston always seemed too baby-faced to play Arnott(good though he is) I really liked it and it stands up with other classic British mini-series' like The Ghost Squad, Buried (also with Lennie James), Injustice, Criminal Justice, etc.
And it was written by Jed Mercurio -writer of perhaps one of modern TV's greatest ever series'. the absolutely jaw-droppingly brilliant Bodies which starred Max Beesley.
