Id be very surprpised if Keeley Hawes isn't back as Denton.
I absolutely loved her performance in this . She played the slippery part so well and had the audience guessing to the very end. It would be a shame to see such a smart, interesting and complex character not return. Denton did have a good moral compass and didn't deserve the life sentence she was given.

Alas, I'm not hopeful on this, though hope to be proved wrong. Read several interviews with Mercurio about how he likes to take on entirely new corruption stories each series. Whilst he keeps the supporting characters, his comments make me think as the central core "transgressor" he'll have an entirely new protagonist.
As he did by replacing Lennie with Keeley, etc.
But it would be great to somehow have just as a little side story, the release of Denton for the particular charges for which she was NOT guilty upon "new evidence." :-))
Yes some moral resolution to her story would be better than her being sentenced for a crime which was dubious anyway. She helped get rid of a real scum bag . But I also like the fact tht its probably quite realistic that a basically good character like her ends up in jail , as it does happen. I suppose we are all just used to "happy" endings and its good that the writers in som respects didn't go down this route. I just felt Denton was a terrific character and could have been a great addition to the AC team and would have been a great partner for Arnott. She had some balls and guile.
