I was very unhappy with the ending of the first series. A bit too real life like.

We find out that the coppers, that aren't bent, are tied up in red tape or kept down by their colleagues and are unable to achieve anything.

All the guilty parties got off Scot free. Where's the hope?

I think that's the point. The irony of an anti-corruption unit policing those who step out of line in a system that is intrinsically corrupt.
