I watch the show on my computer which allows me to look up the definitions of expressions that are unfamiliar. (e.g. *beep* tosser, tickety-boo),
I didn't realize that "cheers" can also be used as an expression of gratitude. In the USA, cheers is used when a toast or congratulatory message is being delivered.
Honestly, I still cannot conceive how law enforcement can confront the "bad guys" without firearms. I imagine it's a chicken and the egg scenario, that requires a leap of faith by law enforcement.
