Did anyone else think that...

...Carly, the missing girl in the second series, might turn out to be Lindsay Denton's child? I began to think that she might be when they briefly showed LD's medical records revealing a pregnancy and then referring later in the final episode that Carly was an adopted daughter.

reply

Yeah I thought the same.

what Jordie?

reply

I didn't think so because I realise that she had gotten pregnant for Dryden, and she had had an affair with Dryden for just 5 years, so even if she had had a child, it would not have been as old as Carly.

The ability to always see the worst in people and situations is often a hiding place for fear.

Since I watched on Amazon, I could pause and see that the pregnancy was terminated. However, it still had occurred to me that she was Lindsay's child from some other liason.

This aspect of the story is baffling. DNA evidence was removed so that they could get away with substituting another body for the runaway girl, but the idea that the missing girl had ZERO traceable blood relatives is ridiculous. Plus they had the photos to incriminate the DCC. The idea they needed to pin him for murder, a case that even in the story was insufficient to take to trial, makes no sense.

Bad writing basically.

I was sure that would turn out to be the case. It seemed like they were foreshadowing it all the way. It's the main thing I came here to talk about. But apparently we were wrong.
