Who was this for?

The Beatles, Queen Elizabeth, the 'British Invasion' and other cultural references would obviously go over children's heads. The boring, lazy storytelling and lack of character development, or any merit whatsoever, makes me wonder what kind of person that actually remembers the 1960s would be entertained by this drivel. It came off as Austin Powers meets Johnny English, plus LSD inspired colors and visuals, minus the fun. The minion's 'language' is also stupid; the creators got a touch of Dadaism in there.

I have to agree! The 'For Adults' references were entirely pointless if the whole movie was gonna simply pander to the youngest of human beings!

Little kids whose parents took them. The cultural references basically show the parents were after thoughts and that the creators had no respect for its main audience.

They avoided adding references for the adults taking their children around here. The should have added some Motown music if they wanted to have 2nd and 3rd returns to the theater.

The Beatles and Rolling Stones references were for older white grandparents.
