Well, of course a kids' movie is going to overall have a better take. You're pretty much guaranteed at least 2-3 tickets per purchase.

If you're happy and you know it, go sit in the corner and think about your life.

It should be like that for every movie. Who goes to the movies by themselves?

I do as well as many others.

Go away, or I shall taunt you a second time!

So what! Both get a sequel then what you still don't make a dime sucking off Sony!!!

Minions 6.8 stars out of 10. Ant Man 8.0 stars out of 10. For (barely) making more than Ant Man, the rating differances blow it away. Money isn't the only thing that makes a movie sucessful.

Like the transformers movie series

but Money can buy things, which ratings can't. More over studios care more about money than ratings. You can buy anything for $1 Billion, but you can't buy anything for IMDB's 8.0 stars, can you ?

You should not trust IMDB ratings, because those are infested by troll ratings.
They rate productions they have not even watched. They choose to rate entirely based on hatred to something related to the production, which could be actors, directors or perhaps if its part of a franchise they don't like.

I a case like Ant-Man, its just enough for it to be a part of the Marvel universe to get such a high rating. They don't even need to watch the movie first, before they choose to give it a 10 in rating, even though it in reality might actually only be justified for getting a 6 or 7 in rating after actually watching it.

The ratings done on Marvel or DC Comics movies, don't trust them. Fans of both will give much higher ratings than actually justified.
