Minions has grossed $1.08 billion as of Sept 16th 2015

The other post on here claims Minions has broken $1.5 billion or even $1.8 billion.

Box Office Mojo keeps an accurate record of weekly intake from all the movies and it puts Minions at just over $1 billion in 2nd place behind Frozen.

And now it is almost 1.12 billion. If it is doing just have as good in this week to come, it will become the tenth highest grossing movie worldwide in history (not adjusted for inflation). Not permanently of course, but it will give it some time in the spotlight while it is on the top ten list.
