Ruined it?
Despicable Me had been blessed with cinema's most highly regarded achievement, "Remember-able Characters" and the world wide reception of the Minion characters for their distracting 1 min of slap stick comedy was gold.
I mean c'mon who wouldn't love gibberish speaking yellow aliens goofing around. but that's it sadly. the character's major strength is in being the sidekick, and popping once a min to show they exist. that's what DM so frigging amazing.
and then came DM2 which was good too, but not so much as the original, but I could sense that Hollywood wanted to franchise the minions by making them a plot related subject. but it did good. why? because the main they still are the side roles.
now the biggest problem you face when you give a side character a full 1:30 hr role.
DIALOUGUE :
I mean it was mere torture listening semi-Mexican gibberish, to the point it was not funny anymore, but sad! hence they brought in the whole England arc.
oh and we don't even know what these things are, I mean here we have these pre-historic walking talking glowsticks that pre-date the dinosaurs and they just fiddle into town, ask a cabee to take them to orlando and the people go like "meh!"
