Do you think they should have stayed on the island for a few years?

And had a baby? The ending in this one is very happy go lucky. It definitely differs from the original with its tragic ending. With this one I was curious to see where they would go. I thought it was a nice tv film, but I felt like they held back a little. I felt like something was missing. What do you guys think?

Well, considering in the original that basically all of the others were lost at sea except for the two protagonists (and the drunk old man), there wasn't really anyone to come rescue them--no one who actually knew they were out there, at least.
In this one, they had family and friends who knew they were lost, and wouldn't just stop looking.
It's a pretty big jump from two ship-wrecked children/teenagers in the first film (and second) to two modern-day kids stuck on an island for a few weeks.

"...and now you want me to eat bunnies and I'm kinda freaking out, okay?!"

Yeah the movie was so lifetime, too too tame and instead of raw teen lust we got mood killing teen angst OMG

I understand that it's a modern remake, but yeah, I think they should have stayed on the island a while longer, maybe not YEARS, but longer. Let them really get into a LIFE there and um, "experiment" a little more, discover more (while still modestly filmed... but really, in this version she was ALWAYS on her back... boring. Yeah.) Show them become truly reliant on and connected to one another, then bring them back to civilization. With a baby and all the judgement and questions that would go along with that. It seriously bugged me that the "morning puke" thing added up to NOTHING! It was a sexy little TV movie, but there could have been a lot more reality to it in the connection they made. And that would have been served by staying there longer.
