Did anyone else notice that Emma's full name was Emmaline-same name as Brooke Shield's character in the 1980 version?? Maybe she was supposed to be her great great granddaughter?? :-)
shareThere are a few references to the 1980 version that I noticed - the most obvious ones being Emma's full name and Christopher Atkins' cameo as the teacher.
Other subtle references include when they were sitting on the beach watching the sunset and Dean was debating whether something his mother told him in regards to the setting sun is a myth or not, and after Emma injures herself he tells her that he "doesn't know what he'd do if something happened to her."
