Alright,I've seen this movie 3 times now,and I still can't figure out why the water police stop the party boat...were there drugs,or was it because of underage drinking?? That sequence before Emma falls in always goes to fast,and I know I'm missing something!! Anyone?? :-)
shareI think it was just a plot device to get them in the water with Dean not wanting to get back on the yacht. Though I was scratching my head why he was even on the yacht in the first place.
shareYou're right-Dean being there in the first place didn't make much sense-as he was a loner and didn't really want to be on the trip in the first place,you'd think a party boat was the last place he'd be-lol!!

They never really said, however, even here in the U.S. Coast Guard/and state or local law enforcement can stop and board on the water without the same restrictions as with vehicles on land. So it could have been just a routine safety inspection. Whatever the reason, obviously some of the party goers were afraid of getting busted.
