....how Dean came to be on the yacht in the first place? Dean is a self-admitted loner. Even if he was rooming with Steven, AND Steven extended an invitation to Dean to join them, it is out of character for Dean to go. The only reason I can think of for Dean to go is the promise of alcohol.

They didn't seem too fussy about who came aboard the boat; I just figured he snuck out, in search of his own entertainment, and it was just co-incidence that many of the people he had travelled with came to the same party.
