Didn't even think about it because I'm not sure I rememeber Patty from the original BL.
shareIt wouldn't be him for a couple reasons. First, the 1980 film was set in time maybe a hundred years ago or more, so likely would have deteriorated more. Also, I'm pretty sure they were supposed to be in the Pacific. And in the 1980 movie, Patty goes out in a drunken stupor to a part of the reef, sort of like a miniature island a couple hundred yards off the main island, where he dies and then his body completely decomposes down to the skeleton. Richard goes out and looks at his skeleton years later, then stares at his own hand, and realizes that he too, has bones inside him. The poor schmuck in Awakening is sort of like a mummy, in that he has some dried skin still. Also, he's on the same island. And Patty also had the remnants of a rum keg with him. So, it would be a cool idea, but I think we can safely rule it out.
shareOr yet another thought.......maybe it was Jimmy Hoffa....
shareDo you mean Paddy?
What if a squirrel wants a sausage?
No, his name was Patrick Button, or Patty
Paddy is short for Patrick. Patty is short for Patricia.
What if a squirrel wants a sausage?
Well, in that case, I guess I did mean Paddy. I looked in the book to see what it said, but it read "Mr. Button" most of the time. It said "Pat" once, but I got tired of looking. I know "Paddy" used to be a common term for someone from Ireland, but when I saw his name was Patrick, I thought the t made sense. But if Paddy is the name commonly used for Patrick, then Paddy it is.
