Frankie's Two Bodies?
There is a book called The King's Two Bodies, by Ernst Kantorowicz, 1957, about Medieval political theories, and not about rival claims to be the place where a king is buried. (Christopher Columbus is claimed to be buried in two different cities in two different hemispheres.)
And perhaps Frankie literally has had two bodies so far in the series.
After spending what seems like minutes in the underworld after death, Frankie returns to her life and finds that it is two weeks after her death. When she returns to her school the first time, she is told everyone attended her funeral.
A corpse is not necessary for a funeral, but why would people think that Frankie was dead if she was seen to fall into the manhole and no corpse was found? If a corpse wasn't found, people should suspect that Frankie had survived and wandered off through the sewer system.
One possible reason why people would think that Frankie was dead would be if the drop was too far for most people to survive, and if there was a fast flow of water (and other liquids?) through the sewers at that time, and if the waste water didn't go to a treatment plant. At a treatment plant solid waste, like the body of a girl, would be filtered out, making a corpse easy to locate. So possibly the town dumps its waste water into the local river without any treatment, against all environmental regulations, and it was assumed that Frankie's corpse was washed far downstream.
But it seems probable to me that Frankie's corpse was recovered and buried at her funeral.
And since Frankie seems to have a solid biological body after returning from the underworld, it should be her second body. Maybe Frankie's corpse was teleported out of her coffin and reanimated. If not, her present body would be a second and totally separate living body, perhaps cloned from her original body. Where and how was Frankie given a second body?
And what about Pretty and Scary? They seem to have real biological bodies after going with Frankie to the realm of the living. Maybe the Grim Reaper gave all three of them biological bodies when sending them to the realm of the living, and omitted mentioning it. Though giving Frankie a new living body should be mentioned in the very long contract as a debt which Frankie must repay.
If Pretty and scary were given biological bodies by the Grim Reaper when they sent to the realm of the living, their origins seem rather mysterious.
Were Pretty and Scary once living kids who were given jobs in the underworld after their deaths? If so, how and why were they selected to be given jobs instead of sent to the afterlife?
Or were they spirits of the underworld who were never in the world of the living before?
Or were they born with living biological bodies in the underworld?
Since Pretty Freekin scary is based on a book series, by someone named Chris P. Flesh (which seems like a pen name), it is possible that the books might give more technical details than the tv series. But movies and tv shows based on books often change a lot of things, so it is not certain that everything in the books would be true in the tv series.
