Too many jump scares

Movie was fine, but they went overboard with the obnoxious jump scares in this one.

I think this is the first ghost story-type movie that Branagh has directed. Jump scares are an easy crutch for a director inexperienced at the genre.

i went pretty deaf during this one.. not gonna lie

also the Dutch(?) angle used for every third scene got annoying real quick

I agree, its a cheap way to make a scary/spooky movie. I would have rated this one higher, if not for this stupid crap. I enjoyed the movie, I just hate the jump scares. At least make it so the sound doesn't make you go deaf when it happens.

Psychological horror is hard to write. Shit jumping out at you with loud noise is easy.
