I can't remember why he left, and why he is now a med student on Chicago Med? Help me out! 

He left for another tv show and that one was cancelled... He did a short run on Code Black as well.

Jeff was injured on the job and decided to enroll in med school. I barely remember him in CF myself because there have been so many people on that show.

and then he decided to become a doctor on Med...kinda reminds me of Dawson, she loved being a paramedic and said she had dreams of becoming a doctor and yet she decided to become a firefighter instead? It's like make up your damn mind woman! With Clarke it's the opposite.

Somehow an ex-marine turned firefighter managed to finish pre-med in that time... why on earth would someone finish their pre-med training only to enlist in military service?
