I just caught Jimmy's tragic episode and I'm a little confused about Boden's role in what happened to Jimmy.

Why did he dismiss Truck 81's grave concerns so easily. Does no one see that is inaction is what led to Jimmys accident?

Yes Jimmy was a dumba$$ and this was bound to happen but that why Biden should also be held responsible. He knew full well that the kid was a loose cannon, would not follow orders and place the lives of his fellow firefighters in jeopardy.

Why didn't Boden suspend Jimmy or put him on the bench? Why allow an angry and unstable kid to work a fire situation and

He did suspend him but the brass overruled him.

Yeah, that's the problem. Boden did the right thing but the brass didn't.

It was lousy writing. Boden could've found a way. He'd done it before. The writers just wanted him gone.

Show runners and producers, more than writers, but yes, correct.

Though maybe McQueen wanted out. He has potential (and cinematic DNA) to be a star I think if he can catch the right role. Though according to IMDB, he doesn't have anything lined up.
