Superb Storylines.

I don't usually watch Chicago Fire, iv'e seen a lot of episodes in the past, but i haven't watched every single one, i read a bit about some of the characters storylines and thought i'd check season 5 out and i must say that some of the character arcs are very interesting (example Dawson and Casey's adoption), i'm currently streaming episode 3 and Casey is in trouble about the route in which he took to adopt the child, it all is very interesting and has viewers wanting to know what will happen next.

The adoption storyline was as unrealistic as ever. That was pretty much Dawson getting what Dawson wants, and Casey bending over to please her. No person, with no parenting experience, gets to adopt a child ahead of qualified foster families who have YEARS of experience. And the process definitely doesn't happen in 2 weeks.

That's true about the adoption process. Iv'e been watching more episodes and it's clear that Casey only went through all of that trouble because Dawson wanted a child, it's evident when she says to him that he's getting into trouble because of her. Still an interesting storyline though! The majority of TV Drama character arcs are unrealistic, that's fiction for ya, you know what i'm saying?! Peace Out.

True, but keep in mind, when this show first came on the air, what drew a lot of people was it's authenticity and the fact that it represented the CFD in the right way. The drama was real and believable and characters didn't dominate storylines. Pretty much like what we saw in Third Watch. And it made for great TV. The show, IMO, since midway through Season 2, has lost that. And losing Shay meant losing the counter-balance that kept the Gabby character in check. And now it's Gabby, Gabby, Gabby. And she gets everything she wants.
