Chicago Series Order Help.

I scrolled through many pages on the forum and didn't see any topics about this so sorry if this has been discussed.

I was thinking of getting into this series (Chicago series in general) and was needing a little help from the fans on the best way to watch the show(s).

Obviously I see that Fire started first so I figured I would start with that one.

At which point does P.D. began in the continuity? Same with Med?

I also understand there are some crossovers...

Any advice on the best way to view the series in the most enjoyable and chronological way?

Thanks!

As far as I can tell, Chicago PD was picked up as a mid-season replacement (for something else) in the middle of Fire's second season. I think it premiered in January 2014. Med then premiered in November 2015, so its first season aligns with Fire's third and PD's second.

The character of Hank Voight was introduced on the first season of Fire, so it's best to start there to get the background for PD. I personally have still never seen the first season of Fire, but I caught on quick. I am new to PD and still catching up myself.

As for the crossover characters, Antonio Dawson - a detective on PD and moving to Chicago Justice this spring - is Gabby Dawson's older brother. Gabby is a paramedic on Fire. Dr. Will Halstead on Med is the younger brother of Jay Halstead, a detective on PD (and my personal favorite character from all of the series). There are plenty of other crossovers as well, but those involve the plot which I don't want to spoil for you. These familial relationships don't spoil anything and are known from the beginning. I might be missing some more, but hopefully this helps!

At some point last season I went through all three series and lined up all the episodes in the order they should be watched but it looks like IMDB only keeps 10 pages so its no longer on here. Wish I had saved it :(

Watch season 1 of Chicago Fire first. It was mid way through season 2 of Chicago Fire when Chicago PD premiered. Chicago Med premiered around the same time as CF season 3 and CPD season 2. If you start with season 1 of Chicago Fire I might be able to re-write the list by the time you get done :)

You can get the episodes and dates for each series, in an easier to read list than IMDb, at http://epguides.com

Welcome...I have never missed any of the episodes you have mentioned.

In my opinion, I watch as they are scheduled to air; even with the crossovers you will be able to follow. You would have to watch Law and Order Special Victims Unit because they are also involved in the crossovers from time to time.

Hope this helps and Enjoy watching!

I do de-claire! (I'm just saying)
