Louie.....,What A Huge Miss

As some others have said. The Louie part might have been sold some in the beginning, but I kept comparing him to the kid on Modern a Family who started really young. At first she might not have said much, but she did seem more than one demensional, and now she's so good that steals the scene quite often......Louie was a lump on a log who never smiled or actually talked (He was generally turned from the camera when he supposedly said anything. I can't help but wonder what they were they were thinking when they decided to use him for the part?

reply

I am seriously concerned about that child. He is the saddest most depressed child I have ever seen.

reply

Yeah, he was pretty quiet, too quiet.

As I've mentioned before the actor(s) who play Louie are supposedly are pretty well like normal kids with talking & smiling. But in the scene where he was asking about pizza he wasn't facing the camera & it looked like he didn't say the line @ all or did it earlier off camera & they recorded it.

I don't know who did the casting for the part of Louie but it was terrible casting this kid is constantly looking down never smiles it's just pathetic I know this kid is supposed to have been passed around from home to home but this acting is terrible the part should have been recast a long time ago

like I said, it's not the kid's fault...the twin boys who play Louie are actually pretty good, there's a video that showed one of the boys smiling and show different facial expressions and emotions fairly easily on command...so there's no reason why Louie is so expressionless on the show. So I think it's the directors who told the boys to act so expressionless and emotionless to portray Louie as shy and traumatized. If it was indeed the director's decision for Louie to be so emotionless and monotone, then I think it would not make any difference regardless of who played Louie.

reply

Definitely a terrible casting for the part. Not once did he smile or show any emotion. Good news though is that this is probably the last we see of him now that he is with his father and his family..

reply

Sorry to disappoint you but Derek Haas tweeted that we'll see Louie again...

reply

Wonder how that will work out? If his dad dies in combat surely he would go to his grandparents.

reply

Maybe the Dad won't be able to handle his special needs...

reply

I could almost imagine how that could play out...turns out Louie doesn't like his bio daddy and his family and wants to go back to Dawsey so DCFS is called again and returns Louie to Dawsey...I really can't imagine why Louie would come back unless he is returned to Dawsey's custody. yikes! I hope that doesn't happen...Louie is cute and all but I've had enough of the whole Dawsey family soap opera drama and it's time to end it for good.

like I said, it's not the boys...I managed to find a facebook page dedicated to the twin boys and it contains some videos of the boys being more expressive on camera:

and in this photoshoot when one of the boys was told to smile he did smile:

https://www.facebook.com/vlynnonline/videos/10102759733583828/?pnref=story

see it shows that the boys can still show different facial expressions when they're told to...so I think the problem is definitely the directors.

reply

Woeful acting or direction, either way I had no empathy or connection with the character and glad to see the back of him.
