Kelly
Have I been blind or is it just bad writing? Severide seems like a complete misogynist.
Both women don't seem like they need them in their lives
as much as he pushes them to say yes to him.

A misogynist? He has never came across that way to me.
Sure he wanted Anna to stay but it was only a suggestion, he didn't seem forceful or anything.
He pushed Stella? I guess I have to disagree, since I don't see what you're talking about.

"How do you know this?"
"That's what I do... I drink, and I know things."
Forgetting the patients name, but it just seemed force to me. They left us in the dark anyway.
shareGiven his history, it makes me think the opposite.
shareThat trailer was misleading. There was no choosing between two women. He found out Anna was being discharged. He told her that he felt there was something there, he wanted her to stay. He kissed her and then told her that he'd be there before she was discharged. She left before he got there.
There were a few Stella scenes, but it was just more him thanking her for being there for him.
No one forced anyone to do anything.
In reality, it was a huge letdown. I thought Kelly would kiss Anna and then realize that he didn't want to kiss her, he wanted to kiss Stella. And then go profess his feelings for her.
NOPE. Instead, he lost Anna and nothing with Stella.
And when has Kelly EVER forced a woman to do anything? Yes, he's been with a lot of women. I can't recall when he forced a woman to stay or do anything for him. He just lets them walk away because it's easier for him.
I don't know it just comes across to me as if he is still willing to be with so many women and yet through his disposable behavior, he still hasn't gotten his life together, but that seems to be the overall ark for the character.
shareIt is interesting I will admit that through his many relationships with women in the characters history, he seems to have finally found two women who seem to be what he wants and he gets neither. I hope this will be an awakening.
shareI don't think there's anything about him that would point to misogyny. He is attracted to strong women it seems, Stella is pretty strong and badass, and he had a lot in common with the other woman, she was active and liked the same sports etc. I've never seen him disrespect a woman and he is fiercely loyal to his friends, all good things IMO. He was a bit of a playboy but there's nothing wrong with that, the women he was with weren't looking for anything more then either.
