Would kelly take battlion chief position

I doubt he would take it but it is time for him to be happy and move forward in his career.

reply

Yeah, I agree.

Unless the actor is leaving the show, and this presents a way out for his character.

reply

He isn't remotely qualified for it. He's not a very good lieutenant to begin with and probably only managed to get a position as lieutenant because of his dad.

reply

Yes, he is a bit loose, but he is always first in, last out. He leads by example and protects his squad and those on truck at all times. I will take that anytime from a leader. There may be nepotism in the CFD, but I assume one has to past very rigorous tests to become the youngest lieutenant in the history of the entire department.

TK likely is not going anywhere. The Springfield thing is just a storyline. No way they let him out of contract to do more movies. Next year is a different deal when the leads contracts expire.

Severide lacks in people management outside of fires and rescues though.

Where did it say that he was the youngest lieutenant? It only said he was the youngest to make squad. I think there is a set amount of time a firefighter needs to be a firefighter and in the department before he can make lieutenant. 6 years I believe. Clarke might have had a shorter period because of his military experience carrying over.

Anyhow, Severide is still a lieutenant and a battalion chief would go to an existing chief (there are only 25 Battalion Chiefs in Chicago).

Casey would make more sense for promotion, he is generally a far better leader than Severide.

edit: Severide's dad only made Captain... and Severide wouldn't want to be a chief anyhow! A chief generally stays outside at fires and in the background at rescues to manage the scene, Severide would hate that! Severide would also hate the mountains of paperwork that a chief has to do let alone a battalion chief!.
