Why no Swedish characters?

Maybe this is just the result of me being a Swede who easily gets riled up by the slightest bit of inequality, but am I the only one bothered by the fact that this film didn't need an all non-Swede cast and opted for one anyway?

I mean, from what I gather in the trailer it's supposed to take place in the present day and it's not dealing with any kind of military operation. There doesn't seem to be any real reason why it needs to be an all non-Swede. Would it really have killed the screenwriters just to write even one of the characters as Swedish?

Now before you start yelling at me for being a political correctness freak, a lot of my favorite movies have an all non-Swede casts: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, Lawrence of Arabia, Blade. Those all did have some justification for lacking Swedish characters, though. I can't see any obvious reason why they couldn't have a strong Swedish lead in this film. We need more submarine movies with strong Swedish characters, you don't see very many.

Seriously? It's annoying enough that one person started a thread making fun of me but at least he referred to some real social issues of inequalities. Last I checked, discrimination against people of Swedish heritage isn't exactly a prominent social issue right now, and I was actually addressing issues of feminism, you know, something that actually is a problem that needs to be addressed in contemporary society. You even made fun of my signature, what the heck, man?

I have a blog now! http://hitchcocksworld.blogspot.ca/

Well done ssllaasskk ;-)

Regarding feminism.
Is there any reason, why there should be any women on the boat?

Kinda reminds me of the guy from India, who got upset because he couldn't get a role in The Hobbit, because of his skin colour.
