It makes absolutely no sense going trough Black Sea when Baltic Sea is such a shorter rout

Just look at Estonia, Latvia & Lithuania all of that was Russian (USSR) and Germany had Poland so it's ridiculously shorter route

He mean that the Black Sea route of German submarine makes no *beep* sense. In 1941 after Nazi invasion of Denmark and Norway Hitler and Stalin ruled the Baltic Sea, so it would be not only quicker, but also safer to ship the gold from Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) straight to any German harbour.

Actually train would be a more sensible way to transport gold, and less dangerous. Especially seeing as Germany and Soviet Union were neighbouring countries.

Yes, it's nonsense.

The whole idea of the Nazis getting gold from the Soviets is ridiculous.
