Why does Spider-man feel so de-powered in this movie?
Nothing I saw seemed consistent with the badass we saw in Civil War.
- That PATHETIC van scene. Come on, Daredevil could have caught that.
- Spider-man struggling with normies. I understand they had S.H.I.E.L.D. tech. But this is still the kid who fought giant Ant Man, Bucky, Falcon and handed their ass to them. Getting caught off guard the first time is forgivable, but "Shocker" only had a weapon. Just web the guy up by his feet and call it a day.
- Spider-man struggling with an elevator. Once Spider-man caught it we saw he was clearly having a hard time lifting it. Mutherf-cker lifted an AEROBRIDGE in Civil War, now he's struggling with a few tons.
- Spider-man durability was insane when he tanked a hit from giant Ant Man and survives without so much as a bruised rib. This movie, gets knocked unconscious by banging his head against a thin metal roof. I don't even think that should happen to a very tough normal human.
- People quote the ferry scene, but, Iron Man was already lifting the boat for him BEFORE he was holding on, and if you look close, not all the webs detached.
- The only time Spider-man showcased undeniable strength was in the rubble scene, but that was due to an adrenaline kick, and he needed the power of his fanboy boner for Stark.
I'm starting to think that the only reason Spider-man was badass in Civil War was because of the suit.
