E2S2 - Mark and Tom playing inaccuracy [spoilers]

I was watching E2S2 and there was this scene where Mark and Tom were playing FIFA together.

The problem is this [spoilers ahead for those who haven't seen the show so far]:

Danny died in July 2013
Beth found out she was pregnant right after Danny's death
The action in this episode shows Beth still pregnant
The PS4 was launched in February 2014

If the action was taking place in February, it could make sense. Beth could have been about 8 months pregnant in this episode and Mark could have bought the PS4 on release (despide him saying the family wasn't that great with money - but he could have been lying).

BUT, what puts the nail in the coffin is this: The first FIFA for the PS4 was FIFA 14 which was launched in September 2014.

So Mark and Tom couldn't have been playing FIFA 14 because it launched in September, but Beth was still pregnant - meaning the action could take place in February at best

I had to point this out somewhere.

I'm a couple months late on this but I have to say it's kind of funny for someone to go to the trouble of making this topic and not doing a little research to verify what you're saying is correct.

I'm not trying to be a jerk but everything you said apart from the shows timeline is false. The PS4 wasn't released in February 2014 it was released in November of 2013 and yes that includes the UK's release date. The first FIFA game was a launch title(in fact FIFA 14 came out in September 2013 for the last gen consoles and was then released for the PS4 and Xbox One at launch). It's possible as far as FIFA goes that you're thinking of FIFA 15 the first FIFA to take advantage of the new generation of consoles.

Anyway no worries we have all made a mistake like this at one time or another, just thought I would leave this information for future visitors to the board.

The show's timeline is messed up with other things.

Beth told Rev. Paul she was pregnant a few days after Danny's murder. He was murdered July 18, 2013. That means she conceived by July 4, at the latest.
And Danny's birthdate, shown a few times, is early May, 2002.

Beth and Ellie met in prenatal classes, according to Ellie. That means Tom was also born in the spring of 2002.

When series 2 starts, Beth is still pregnant and she's wearing summer clothes. She gets a letter summoning her to testify. The date quoted on it is mid May, 2014. She testifies while shes' still pregnant. So already we have her at least a month over due, if not two.

Shortly after Lizzie's finally born, Ellie takes the stand. She states Fred is 2 and Tom is 13. So Tom has aged an extra year between series 1 and 2. Clearly this became necessary because the actor, Adam Wilson, had sprouted up and couldn't pass for 12.

Hardy, when asked at the Millers' dinner table, states his daughter is 15. That's about half-way through the investigation, or August 2013. Just after that he tells Ollie and Maggie that the victim in Sandbrook was the same age as his daughter. Yet the next spring when they're investigating the Sandbrook case, we discover the date of Pippa's murder was April, 2012, when she was 12. Even if Daisy had already turned 13 when Pippa was killed, she should have only been 14 when Hardy told Joe and Ellie about her. Daisy lost a year between series 1 and 2.

Spoilers dropped by David Tennant included the news that series 3 takes place "a few" years after series 2. So it will be interesting to see what other time jumps happen with the characters, especially the kids.
