So I watched the first season a long time ago and saw that they recently added a second season on netflix. Are the seasons connected? Do I have to rewatch the first season again? Because I can't really remember the storyline.
shareYes, it's a direct sequel. The first season was a murder investigation, and the second season is the trial of the person arrested for that murder at the end of S1 (plus a new subplot). I think you probably would need to either re-watch or maybe read episode summaries online.
They are currently shooting the third and final season. The show was designed as a trilogy.

shareNo dates have been announced. British media have estimated it will be "early in 2017" on ITV there. Last time BBC America got it 2 months after it was shown in the UK.
I'm actually hoping that it's shown in North America the same day or within a week of the UK. That would keep the episode discussion livelier.
Ha, I would love that...I watch "Motive," and I always have to be on the lookout for spoilers on that board because we're behind the Canadian broadcast. It's not fun! ;-)
