Night belongs to Jon Voight (spoilers)
Mr. Voight's acting chops are vastly superior to everyone else on this program. The bit on the air plane where he sat next to 'Sugar' the black stripper, with just a few words of dialogue, and knowing looks, the audience would have followed Voight anywhere. No matter what Voight, winner of the Oscar, does, he has instant credibility, one of the few plausible things left on Ray Donovan. (Yes, bringing $2 million in cash on a plane is incredible, but since it is Jon Voight, it is easier to swallow.) A grunt from Voight is more believable than an entire book from the guy who plays the Russian mafia king pin, for instance. The more Voight is on camera, the better the program is, filling up air time with anyone else and it just tanks.
