What are these main characters?
Unlike some of you, I didn't think the acting was terrible. I thought the script seemed bad.
I watched this movie without any sort of familiarity with the story. I don't understand what they expected the audience to think when he's asking her to marry him right at the beginning of the film when apparently they aren't even in a relationship? The guy acted like an ass the majority of the film and then just kept asking his partner (or whatever she was to him) to marry him. And then she was almost always wearing some sort of bikini throughout the movie. They even mentioned it at one point and then she goes and puts on an outfit which was equally revealing. She looks good and I don't mind but it was almost insulting like they knew the movie would be bad so lets just go to the lowest common denominator.
I saw the previews and was really looking forward to this movie but it didn't have any heart. They made it into a typical "superhero-esque" movie where the protaginists are seconds away from death making quipy remarks because they act invincible when they're obviously very mortal and should have died many times or at least be somewhat afraid. There's also a global market thing in an alternate reality where the alternate reality has no way of reaching the real reality. There was so much in this movie that didn't make sense to me as a viewer.
It would have been better if they just made them brother and sister, that's kind of what I thought from the previews. Then it would have made a lot more sense and they could have left out all the marry me stuff which would have been another improvement. I'm disapointed that this movie turned out the way it did, I was really looking forward to seeing it but it disapoints right from the start. I feel like it had a lot of potential and could have been good if they gave the main characters a little bit of depth or background.
