A complete inaccurate depiction of a porn addict

No he would not have many friends. His unhappiness and depression would be pushing his obsession with this stuff. Having a girlfriend is out of the question. I had a girlfriend 5 years back. I never felt the need to watch it. Not only that but he would also not look like a stud with biceps.

Addicts come in all different shapes and sizes

reply

Maybe just one regular looking arm and the other one is ripped.

reply

lol

reply

I look just like him from the neck down, so there.

reply

Was the movie supposed to be an accurate depiction of a porn addict ?

It's one story of one guy, not a thesis on porn addiction...

reply

There is a thing called "functioning" addiction, where the addiction doesn't effect their life as adversely as others. I had a friend that was a porn/sex addict and he had girlfriends and in fact was engaged before he started the recovery process.

very true, much like robin Williams was a functioning depressive suicidal. he didn't exhibit the stereotypical depressed persons traits did he? who can say they saw robin Williams killing himself?

reply

Addicts come in all forms. I agree that this film is probably not the best depiction of a porn addict, simply because Jon's life wasn't that affected by porn. He could function and even be in a relationship.

Check out the movie Shame. That movie shows just how serious porn addiction can be.

reply

I actually didn't really think Shame was so bad. I expected a lot more from it. If anything, he was living a life most dudes want to live, minus that one time. The only thing he could be ashamed about in that movie was the weird *beep* up sexual tension between him and his sister.

No, Lootrok is referring to the characters in Shame

reply

I was actually more surprised by the fact that he didn't have any premature ejaculation problems or even have trouble getting hard just before doing it. I think those are the main problems that most porn addicts face (especially someone who does it 11 times a day!)

reply

Premature ejaculation is the opposite of the problem porn addiction causes. For a porn addict real sex is not stimulating enough.

reply

Yeah, I would think an addict’s problems would be, as you say, that sex is not arousing enough for him to get or keep an erection. Or, would lose interest in having sex with his partner altogether, preferring porn.

reply

No he would not have many friends.

Well, he only had two.

reply

Yes, but they were multicultural.

reply

Why wouldn't he look like a stud and be ripped?
