Couldn't deal with the fake accent.

Joseph Gordon Leavitt is a talented actor. However, the fake New Jersey accent he used in this movie was not done well and was very distracting. It actually affected the quality of the movie in my mind. Anyone else agree?

I think everything written/acting/speaking/scenarios were all done purposefully to have an over the top feel. The whole movie has a in your face vibe also. Especially when it repeatedly talks about everything & the only things Jon cares about in life. "My body. My pad. My ride. My family. My church. My boys. My girls. My porn."

Same here. Couldn't finish the movie because of the terrible accents.

He sounded like he was doing an impression of Christopher Moltisanti from The Sopranos.

It wasn't a good impression of the accent, but I think he was doing it that way on purpose. Kinda like Al Pacino did with Cuban accent in "Scarface". Pacino admitted he went over the top with his Cuban accent to make the character more memorable and seem larger than life. I think Don Jon was trying to do the same, but with a Jersey accent. BTW...I grew up in that area and Don Jon's accent is NOT good!
