Watched it today. Very pleasantly surprised.
I've always liked Jim Parsons, but DreamWorks' last few films haven't been that good and the trailers looked fairly dull so I rented it from Redbox, albeit with low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. The humor was fun and witty, the plot was engaging and the animation was good as well. While there were some jokes that got annoying and a few melodramatic moments in the second half that didn't work with the film's tone, overall I was pleased. It's not quite as good as a typical Pixar film, but it's a solid film that both kids and adults should enjoy, and one of the better DreamWorks films of the past few years. 7.5/10
