The constant overuse of cooing doves in the background...

What's up with the constant use of the sound of doves cooing in every episode, sometimes more than once per episode? It's not as if it's done in the manner of a slight background noise all of the time but rather it can be a bit too loud & obtrusive. Frankly the sound effect is overused to the point where we now laugh when we hear the doves.
To be fair, Father Brown is not the only show out of the UK to overuse the doves as it's a semi-regular feature in the old Inspector Morse series & the loud cooing of doves was easily audible in the mid 1980's Miss Marple episode of Murder at the Vicarge that we watched on Sunday. In that case, the setting was inside the parish churh & the cooing was overly loud.
Any thoughts would be most welcome.

LOL!!! The doves and their cooing sound are a constant presence in Erope, at least Northern Europe. How on earth would you cut the sound out of the outdoor scenes without killing the dialogue?

This show is full of over-produced fakery. It's made by women and looks like a TV commercial.

Well, who knows about this particular series. I live in Central Europe now and the doves are very loud in my little town. You couldn't film anything here without having them on the soundtrack, unless it's winter. When I lived in the states I also noticed them in pretty much in all the Brittish miniseries, and I watch the high quality productions, so it's possible they are on the soundtrack naturally, in spite of all the other hokey special effects.
