LADY FELICIA

WHAT IS HER MARITAL STATUS? IS SHE SEPARATED OR HAVE AN ARRANGEMENT WITH HER WEALTHY HUSBAND? HE'S NEVER AROUND, RARELY MENTIONED, AND SHE'S QUITE A FLIRT.

ANYBODY HAVE THE BACK STORY ON HER? IS SHE DEVOUT OR DOES SHE JUST ENJOY INVOLVING HERSELF IN FATHER BROWN'S ANTICS?

reply

It is never explicitly explained, but I'd say she has an arrangement with her husband, spoken or unspoken. She is not only a flirt, but she has definitively cheated on her husband.

I doubt she is devout, she is a busybody who likes to stick her nose into other people's affairs. She is a nice and charming busybody though, so I'll forgive her.

Agreed. I think she's a good character. I just wish she'd stop screaming every time she discovers a body. Surely she's used to that by now.

reply

They were debating the screaming on the "making of" show. The actress felt said the same thing about that Felicia should be used to it by now, but someone else wanted a scream in every episode.

Yes, her husband works in London I believe. Series 2 currently being repeated on BBC1. In Monday's episode she was shown in an hotel room rolling on her nylons after an encounter with a gardener. With that posh accent it works for me!

She's definitely sexy, that's for sure! 😁

No blah, blah, blah!

She would have to be well married, and Lords etc were never home, they had their own company and clubs.

reply

I think it's quite a hoot and pretty close to a lot of marriages in that day. Aristocracy married and as long as the wife gives him an heir and a spare, the husband went off to London and usually stayed at his club. The wife would come up for the "season" and what she or he does and it doesn't cause a scandal, nobody is hurt. Just think of Lady Felicia's confessions, it's a wonder that Father Brown doesn't blush every time he speaks to her.
